After working for this barn for about seven years-it is almost complete.

It was five years ago, that we thought we could start on the lower level, which is technically the cellar-although, from the back of the barn it was the first level.  We had this concrete/post and beam 36x60 barn started and the animals were moved into the cellar.  This was perfect, we had plenty of space, and now we work on the plan to finish it, this meant adding another story and a half of post and beam building onto that cellar.

So, we along with the builder, worked this out to happen in the late summer/fall of 2005.  Well, it was November 14 that the crane showed up to erect the bents, and within 10 hours the frame was up and it was a beautiful thing!

Within the next month the sides, flooring, loft, roof, windows, doors-and christmas lights-were complete.  The alpaca females and their cria all moved upstairs to their new digs and the world was a better place!

Our shop will be moved over into three bays and our vet room is to be completed over the winter.  We are so excited about the new barn and it is truly a magnificant, finally achieved, milestone for us!  Check out the photos-But, you must come see...
